Chess Course Level II: Openings and Middle Game in ENG


Dive deeper into the art of chess with our Level II course, designed to improve your skills and strategic understanding. This course is perfect for players ready to move beyond the basics and elevate their game to the next level.

This is Level Two of the chess educational program at the World Chess Club Berlin. If you're unsure which level is right for you, we recommend attending one of our free events for a skill level assessment. 

What you’ll learn:

    • Evolution of openings

    • What does it mean to have an opening repertoire

    • How to choose an opening/defence

    • Openings for lazy chess players

    • Defences for lazy chess players

    • Center break

    • Pawn majority/minority

    • Outposts

    • Open files

    • How and when to “liquify” positions

    • Neutralise counter play of the opponent

    • When to transition to endgames

Course details:

  • March 5th – March 26th, 2025 (4 lessons)

  • Wednesdays from 19:00 to 20:30

  • Limited to 10 participants

  • €85 for four lessons

  • Conducted in English

Meet your teacher:

The course is led by Allan Mohammad, an experienced chess player with extensive teaching experience. Allan has successfully guided learners of all ages, sharing his passion for the game. A tournament winner, his classical FIDE rating is 1954, and his engaging teaching style ensures you'll enjoy every lesson.
