a_Live: Magro Jazz Trio

"aLive" is a monthly series of live music events at the World Chess Club Berlin.

It will start on September 8th with Magro Jazz Trio!

Magro Jazz Trio is a Berlin-based musical concoction that blends the chill vibes of hip-hop beats with the groovy essence of jazz, evoking the likes of Herbie Hancock and J Dilla.

Magro, the musical architect, is a drummer and producer who knows how to blend genres with finesse. Following the success of his debut album "Trippin" and the recent honor of the "German Jazz Prize" for "Debut Album of the Year," Magro's sophomore release "II" (pronounced: Two) continues to captivate.

Uri Gincel, a pianist with a flair for surprise, weaves a distinctive narrative from the sounds of his Berlin home and his world travels. Mentored by jazz pioneer Arnie Lawrence, Uri's unique voice on the piano resonates from his prestigious “America-Israel cultural foundation” prize and experiences with artists like Kurt Rosenwinkel and “Bonaparte”.

Francesco Beccaro, a bassist, composer, and educator. A graduate of the Collective School of Music in New York, Francesco's diverse musical sensitivity has led him to collaborate with the likes of Savion Glover, Jimmy Cobb, Popa Chubby, and more. His solo album "Upward" showcases his compositional prowess, while his talents extend to scoring documentaries and short films.
